In Albania, the discussion of topics about reproductive sexual health, sexual relations, phases and changes that the human body undergoes while growing continues to be taboo.
These topics are still a source of shame or embarrassment when discussed, in most Albanian families, even though the family is the place to lay the foundations for the sex education that children receive. This lack of freedom pushes them to provide information in unsafe, inaccurate or at worst even dangerous ways.
Together for Life within the project "Strong family, healthy young people", supported by UNFPA Albania, is holding informative meetings with parents on the importance of parent-child communication on sexual health issues, both with girls and with the boys.

During a meeting in Belsh, the TFL coordinator shared with parents some tips on how to communicate with children about these topics, and where to go if they need information on parenting and educating children about sexual and reproductive health from an early age.
