Project goal: Health is my right: monitoring the basic drugs guidelines for transparency in hospital care

Key project activities:

(i) Conduct 10 monitoring sessions in the 3 target hospitals. after each monitoring, a report of the situation will be presented to the MOH and will be a follow up to see if changes are made; (ii) 3 journalistic investigations on the lack of drugs and other consumables in the hospitals; (iii) One monitoring report that will be shared with the Ministry of Health, with specific recommendations; (iv) 4 information sessions with patients and patients associations on the necessary list of drugs that they need to request when in hospitals; (v) Publication of the information on the drugs list to www.propacientit.com and www.shendeti.com.al, related social media, as well as Shendeti Newspaper.

Results:

• Development of a detailed report on the situation of the treatment with the necessary drugs in the hospitals, with specific recommendations for the Ministry of Health on how to improve the situation. Investigations to make the institutions accountable on the list of drugs. • Informed thousands of patients and citizens on the necessary list of drugs, which is their right to receive.
