ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project aims to enhance the role of young women in Europe and the Mediterranean by providing tools and practices to youth workers, social workers, educators and volunteers of the associations involved to implement, facilitate, develop women (with particular attention to those more vulnerable) participation and empowerment in the social, economic and political field.
The specific objectives are:
- Raise awareness about the social, cultural and economic phenomena that determine gender disparities
- Reflect on the role of youth workers in the empowerment process for women and girls
- Introduce tools and methodologies useful to youth workers to increase the active participation of women and girls, including the design of new and innovative intervention practices
- Building skills in the field of gender inclusion and equal opportunities
- Create a Euro-Mediterranean network of organizations capable of developing empowerment actions for young women, with particular regard to those from disadvantaged backgrounds
About the study visit:
The choice to carry out the study visit in Lebanon is determined by the experience of the Lebanese organization on the themes of the project and the exceptional context of the country, elements that determine a unique and high-quality enrichment for the participants. During the study visit various examples and concrete experiences will be presented on women participation and equal opportunities and on the tools used to increase, encourage and promote it.
PARTICIPANTS PROFILE
Participant’s age: 18+, youth workers and leaders.
Participants must be interested in the topic of the project, able to communicate in English and ready to participate in each activity.
This project is funded by the European Union and Italian National Agency. It means that your travel costs, accommodation, and food will be covered if you get selected for the project.
The travel budget is 275 Euros
The travel calculations are based on the distance calculator of the European Commission.
