Project Objectives objectives
- To contribute to improved access on health system of chronic patients during health emergencies.
- To include chronic disease management issues during health emergencies in the strategy of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

Expected Results
- Commitment of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, as well as the deputies of the Parliamentary Health Commission for the inclusion of the management of the chronically ill in cases of pandemics / epidemics in the new health strategy.
- Involvement of the chronically ill in the preparation of the new health strategy.
- Raising public awareness about the need to include chronic diseases management in case of health emergencies in the new strategy.
Main Activities
- Focus groups and in-depth interviews with stakeholders, such as: health workers, health policy experts, the chronic disease patients and their families to identify the problems encountered during the pandemic and the needs during this period.
- Policy paper prepared by policy experts with recommendations for the inclusion of a separate chapter on the management of chronic diseases during pandemic/ epidemic situations in the new strategy of Ministry of Health and Social Protection, taking into account the latest suggestions of the WHO and the European Commission.
- Meetings with representatives of the parliament and the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs for the inclusion of a special chapter on the management of chronic diseases in the strategy of the Ministry of Health.
- Media campaign for the presentation of the policy paper and recommendations and pressure to change policies through media appearances.
