In the framework of the “Leadership is for EveryOne” project, Together for Life (TFL) hosted two young women from Italy who represented High on Life. The program spanned over a period of two weeks, from June 12th to June 23rd, 2023.

Their presence brought a valuable intercultural exchange and enriched the learning experience for both parties involved.

The primary objectives of the Job Shadowing program were to actively involve the participants in the day-to-day activities of Together for Life and provide them with an immersive experience that would strengthen their personal and professional skills. Through close interaction with TFL members, the young women had the opportunity to gain invaluable insights and knowledge on the organization’s work, methodologies, approaches, and objectives.

To provide further context, Together for Life members also took the opportunity to present past projects implemented by the organization throughout its 15 years of existence, showcasing their achievements and successes. This allowed the job shadowers to gain a comprehensive understanding of TFL’s work and the impact it has had on the local community.

The job shadowing activities were planned in advance, drawing upon the organization’s past experiences and knowledge from previous projects. The activities were specifically designed to enhance their teamwork, public speaking, leadership, and facilitating skills.

Throughout the program, participants were encouraged to critically reflect on their own experiences, fostering an atmosphere of self-reflection and personal growth. The participants were provided with opportunities to deliver presentations, facilitate workshops, and engage in writing projects.

During their time with us, the Italian girls actively engaged with Albanian young people, sharing their personal experiences as participants of Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps initiatives. They emphasized the transformative impact of these programs on their personal and professional development.

Additionally, the job shadowing program provided them with the chance to interact with mentors and professionals in the field of project writing. They were introduced to various funding opportunities available for youth NGOs and informal groups, gaining valuable knowledge and insights. Moreover, they actively participated in a project application for the European Youth Foundation.
